The purpose of the grant was to support an integrated healthcare program in Somalia and to conduct a study to advance program planning and implementation tools for post-conflict rehabilitation.

Grant Activities:
Component 1: Carrying out of the health care rehabilitation program developed by the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) in the province of Puntland in the territory of Somalia through:
(1) Rehabilitation of a centrally administered health service (2) Provision of managerial and technical advisory services, acquisition of equipment and materials, and operating costs support for several clinics
Component 2: Carrying out a study of the IFRC integrated healthcare development program in Somalia, to examine the role of international organizations in supporting local non-governmental organizations in community involvement and governance development.
