Shanghai Conference Outcomes

After an unprecedented knowledge exchange on worldwide poverty reduction efforts, development experts in Shanghai reached a consensus of what needs to be done to accelerate development and reduce poverty. The consensus established that achieving the MDGs will depend not only on increasing resources but also on renewed commitment to adapt and accelerate implementation of successful approaches. Invaluable in helping to reach this conclusion has been the Global Learning Process, which reconfirmed much of what is already known about getting to scale, but has also shed new light on many key areas.
