This e-learning program trained policy and operational decision makers on how health economics can contribute to strengthening the effectiveness of health systems by efficiently and equitably addressing the needs of the population. Course participants learned how to use the tools related to market failures to justify the role of the public sector, and how to ensure a larger return on investments in the health sector. They also learned how to use economics to assess government actions. Self-paced learning event. The course fee is $200.
1. To familiarize participants with health economics as a decision making tool in the health sector. 2. To introduce participants to the terminology of economics and health sector reform to help them communicate more effectively with the Ministry of Finance.
