How to install or enable Java

In order to use the online Governance Indicators, support for Java must be enabled in your Web browser. If you do not see the charts in your browser when you log into the chat, your browser might not have Java enabled, or you might not have Java installed on your computer.
First, make sure that Java is enabled in your browser. If you do not see the choice to enable Java, you probably do not have it installed on your computer.

Enable Java

To enable Java in your browser, follow the instructions below.

Internet Explorer for PC

Note: if you did not see "Java (Sun)" or "Microsoft VM" listed in the choices under the Advanced tab in your Internet Options, you will need to download and install Java on your computer.

Note: if you do not have Java installed on your computer, you will need to download and install it before you will be able to enable Java in your browser.

Download and Install Java

If you do not have the Java VM installed on your machine, you will have to install one.

Click the Free Download button. Accept the security warning to download and install the Java Plug-in. In most circumstances, when you install this Java program it will automatically enable Java in your Web browser. If after installing this program you still do not see the charts, please try closing and restarting your browser if you have not already done so. If you did close and restart your browser and you still cannot see the charts, you may need to follow the instructions at the top of this page to enable Java in your Web browser.
